Unable to create users
Alex Pickering
After creating an instance, I cannot seem to create a new user. This seems to be a new issue as I've been able to add users in the past. The error messages I receive are as follows -
Error: Unable to get roles list, There is no procedure with the name 'dbms.security.listRoles' registered for this database instance. Please ensure you've spelled the procedure name correctly and that the procedure is properly deployed.
Error: Unable to create user, No write operations are allowed directly on this database. Writes must pass through the leader. The role of this server is: FOLLOWER
The details of the database are :
Size: 1gb
Region: Belgium
Version: 3.5
Any suggestions or fixes would be appreciated.

Alex Pickering hello, thanks for reaching out.
RBAC, and therefore the ability to list the roles is not available in the current Aura offering.
This feature will be available in future higher tiers, and I will fold this question into one of those feature requests.

Hello Stan Gotshall great to hear from you.
We totally agree, and for the forthcoming Business and Enterprise offerings of Aura in development we will have just that.
I'll leave this open to validate our shared understanding of the need for this within the customer base.

Stan Gotshall: hello great to hear from you.
Without giving away too much, development of Aura Enterprise is well underway and you should expect announcements broadly on this topic in early 2021.

Stan Gotshall: hello, we are building this functionality now, but as you will hear in an announcement in a couple of weeks, we've had some other big rocks we're excited about getting out into the wild first.

Following up, this work was paused while we prioritised release of AuraDB Enterprise, and the soon to be released AuraDS. Currently we plan to complete this work later in 2022.

Stan Gotshall: hello!
Thanks for the positive feedback. User and team functionality in the platform is firmly on our radar for this year.
